First, I’ve always enjoyed writing. When I was at university I wrote pages and pages of poetry, short stories and other pieces. It probably wasn’t very good but that wasn’t the point. It’s just something I liked to do.
My recovery year, 2016, was a new beginning. One of my commitments to myself was to rediscover what makes me passionate and gives me joy, and to pursue such things in the form of hobbies. As a carer I hadn’t really allowed myself to do that. Writing is one of those things and I thought a blog was a good way to encourage some regularity to my writing.
Of course, it’s just possible that what I write might strike a chord with someone. It might inform, inspire, validate or encourage someone else. That would be a bonus.
